Information, support, and activities from the Dutch Childhood Cancer Association and other initiatives

• Information about life after childhood cancer

  The association provides information through its website, information brochures, personal stories, articles, meetings, webinars, and personal conversations about the period after treatment. Topics include dealing with uncertainty, school, studies, work, relationships, fatigue, and late effects. In this way, the association supports parents, children, adolescents, survivors, and siblings as they reshape their everyday lives after treatment.

• Peer support and activities

  During meetings, workshops, symposia, weekends, camps, buddy programs, online groups, and other activities, children, young people, survivors, and families can share experiences, find support, and connect with others who are going through the same thing. Check the Dutch Childhood Cancer Association website for the current schedule of activities.

• Other activities and initiatives

  • SKOV holiday camps: Stichting Kinderoncologische Vakantiekampen (SKOV) organizes free holiday camps and activities for children with cancer and children who have completed treatment.

  • IPSO centers: the IPSO centers organize meetings and activities for young people and adults aged 18 and older who had childhood cancer and their loved ones (parents and siblings). There are several centers throughout the country.
