Remembrance gathering
To remember together the lives of the children we miss, the Máxima Center and the Dutch National Childhood Cancer Association organize a remembrance gathering three times a year.
Remembering and connecting together
We read the names of the children who have died and light a candle for each child. There is space for grief, without having to explain anything. Being together with parents and family members who understand what it means to miss a child gives many parents comfort and a sense of recognition.
Afterward, there is coffee and tea, and you can talk and share memories with other parents or care workers who cared for your child.
