Children's Comfort Team

What does the Children’s Comfort Team do? 

The Children’s Comfort Team brings together nurses, pediatricians, pain specialists, a specialist physician, psychologists, child life specialists, social workers, a spiritual care provider and the care coordination office. 

Throughout treatment, the team works with you and your healthcare professionals to think through choices about treatment and support, and listens to your concerns and questions. The team connects hospital care with care at home. We get to know your child and family and work with you to identify what support is needed, now and in the future. If necessary, we help organize and coordinate care together with your child’s treating physician, primary care physician and home care providers. 

Regular conversations 

Because wishes and needs can change, we like to have regular conversations with every child and family. These are known as proactive care planning conversations.
