Second opinion

It is possible for (parents of) patients and/or the treating physician outside of the Netherlands to request a second opinion from one of the medical specialists at the Princess Máxima Center.
A second opinion can consist of:
  • Peer-to-peer contact: consisting of written advice and/or consultation by phone with one of our medical specialists, without re-evaluation of diagnostics.
  • Formal remote second opinion: consisting of medical specialist (re)assessment of medical information, discussion of the case on the tumor board and written response to the findings.
  • Formal second opinion in the Máxima Center: consisting of an outpatient appointment with a medical specialist in the Princess Máxima Center, (re)assessment of the medical information by the medical specialist, discussion of the case on the tumor board and written response to the findings.
Each referral will be assessed individually for suitability.
